The annual Visions of Victory Gala is planned for April 16th at the Murat Egyptian Room at the Old National Centre in downtown Indianapolis, where we’ll be enjoying food, drinks, gambling, a silent auction and glimpses of the great competitions that have gone on all year through with athletes from the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana Sports Program.

This year we will be honoring Cheryl Angelelli with the Victory Award. Cheryl suffered a spinal cord injury as a teenager when she broke her neck practicing a new racing dive in 1983. Despite the challenges of living as a quadriplegic, Angelelli turned stumbling blocks into stepping stones and turned tragedy into triumph. After a 15-year absence from swiming, Angelelli started to train and competed in the next four Paralympics winning medals even at the age of 40. Angelelli’s success in the pool and in life is the subject of a documentary film entitled “Untold Dreams.”

Be with us to welcome Cheryl to Indianapolis and to help raise funds to support all the great competitions in the year ahead of the athletes at RHI Sports Program. And, don’t forget Broad Ripple Sertoma will be there to provide all kinds of (legal) gambling fun! For more information visit HERE or contact RHI Sports.

March was a good month for the RHI Indy Cruisers power soccer team. On Saturday, March 12th the Cruisers hosted a league day at Benton Central High School. It was a very successful day for the team as they won their first two games and played to a tough 1-1 tie in the last game. The team followed up their good showing with another successful day on Saturday, March 26th at the Ball State league day. The team racked up wins over Turnstone and fellow RHI team the Sudden Impact. They also tied Ball State 2-2, which is a great outcome considering Ball State is one of the top 6 teams in the country. Keep up the hard work Cruisers!
